Declaration

We, the Joint Platform of Ten Central Trade Unions, independent Sectoral Federations and Associations are meeting today in Delhi to deliberate on the everworsening situation in the country on all fronts. This convention is taking place in a very critical situation, when the union government, in order to contain and weaken the trade unions and place the Indian Working Class Movement disarmed in face of the onslaught of capital, have come out with the four labour codes.

IREF Protests for the Restoration of OPS

A massive protest was organized on March 30 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, by the Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF), affiliated to AICCTU, and the Front Against NPS in Railways (FANPSR), demanding the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and against the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). A gathering of hundreds of protesting railway employees was addressed by Sudama Prasad, Member of Parliament and member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways, and Rajiv Dimri, the all India General Secretary of AICCTU.

Let us Build A Militant and Radical Movement of Workers!

The year 2025 is set to witness an all comprehensive attack on the working class by the Modi government. Implementation of Labour Codes, indiscriminate privatisation of public and government sectors and to employ three new criminal acts to suppress the dissent are the strategy of Modi.

A new union of Maruti Suzuki workers emerges after years of solidarity struggle 


On January 5, a new union was born: the Maruti Suzuki Non-permanent Workers Sangh, marking a unique event in the history of working class struggles and the trade union movement.

The union was an initiative by dismissed permanent workers of Maruti Suzuki an act of solidarity by those who had no jobs, or incomes and more importantly, without the support of major trade unions.

I was present on the occasion as an observer.
